Azmul is an international business lawyer qualified and admitted to practice law in 3 jurisdictions: England, India and Singapore. Over the last 17 years in private practice across 3 countries, I have developed particular expertise in complex, cross-border legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions and divestitures, large-scale commercial contracts and regulatory matters.

Azmul now focussed on clients in emerging technology such as FinTech, HealthTech, AdTech, Big Data, IOT, BlockChain, Internet & e-Commerce.  He has lived and worked in Mumbai, Singapore and London.  Azmul has been ranked and recommended by several legal industry directories including Chambers Asia, Asia-Pacific Legal 500 and Global Law Experts. He was also ranked as a "Top 40 Under 40" lawyer and “Singapore A-List: Top 100” lawyer.

Azmul founded FirstCOUNSEL, an online LegalTech service offering on-demand legal support to entrepreneurs, start-ups & SMBs.  Its fair to say Azmul has found his “Ikigai” - a mission to help the early-stage economy by making access to legal support easier, tailored & more affordable using technology to redefine how these services are delivered!

 

When he is not legal engineering, Azmul enjoys travelling, classic Hollywood movies and retro music, and is an avid trivia buff!
